Caring for your waterproof bed blanket is simple. Treat marks before washing. For fresh stains, start with a gentle enzyme-based stain remover. For older or stubborn marks, a chlorine-free oxygen-based stain remover may be more effective. Always spot-test first and avoid chlorine bleach, fabric softeners, harsh solvents, or prolonged soaking. Machine wash with ordinary laundry detergent and, if needed, repeat the drain and spin cycle to remove excess water. Hang to dry in a shady spot or tumble dry on low heat. High heat can damage the waterproof barrier. Storing your blanket in a dry space away from direct sunlight will also help preserve its waterproof qualities over time.
The behaviour of liquids on the blanket depends on their temperature and how they are applied. Warm liquids absorb quickly into the top layer but are halted by the waterproof barrier, whereas cold liquids absorb more slowly. Directly applied liquids penetrate the first layer and are stopped by the barrier, while indirect spills initially bead on the surface, allowing time for you to wipe them away before they absorb.
