The behavior of liquids on the blanket depends on their temperature and how they are applied. Warm liquids absorb quickly into the top layer but are halted by the waterproof membrane, whereas cold liquids absorb more slowly. Directly applied liquids penetrate the first layer and are stopped by the membrane, while indirect spills initially bead on the surface, allowing time for you to wipe them
away before they absorb.
